We lost three precious souls to cancer within days of each other just as we were deep in preparing and going into Pesach..
It’s hard to describe what that kind of grief feels like. We spent time with them, laughed with them, learned from them. We welcomed their families from overseas, set up apartments with everything they'd need.
Linens, towels, groceries, toys, warm home-cooked meals, and fresh sets of pots, pans and housewares for Pesach.
We poured our hearts into helping them feel held, safe, and cared for.
And now, we miss them.
The pain is real. It’s raw. It lingers. And yet, we go on.
We continue showing up for the next family, the next child. We keep working, even as the sorrow of past losses mingles with the awareness that we cannot fully protect ourselves against this pain in the future.
And still, we choose to continue, because love is stronger than fear. And every moment we give to these children and families is precious beyond words.
